Chapter Seven

Graham had no idea how long he’d slept. He awoke to a shaft of vagrant sunlight that had somehow slipped through a crack in the heavy curtains, and which was now shining directly into his eyes. He moaned and rolled over onto his face, attempting to extinguish the evil sunshine. “Bright light!” he said.

A low laugh made him freeze momentarily and start upright, suddenly wide awake.

“Well, good afternoon, sleepyhead!”

The soft baritone was one that Graham recognized instantly, and a grin wreathed his features as he turned to see where Ethan was sitting.

The singer was perched in the armchair in the corner of the room, reading from a laptop that he must have brought with him, since Graham could see his own still on the floor next to his bed.

“Just finishing up your article,” said Ethan. He set the computer to one side as he rose to his feet and stretched noisily, revealing a thin stripe of pale, toned flesh where his T-shirt was riding up over the waistband of his low riding jeans. “You’ve done a good job so far. I take it Lars didn’t give you a hard time last night?”

“Nah. He was more than a little drunk by the time we were done, but I believe what he gave me would best be termed a ‘full and frank disclosure.’ It shed light on a whole bunch of things I’ve been puzzling about.” Graham smirked as he sat up in the bed. “I tried to stay as positive as possible without giving away anything I thought you might not like.”

“You’re a good writer. I guess you know that.” Ethan settled back down and picked up the laptop again.

“Thank you for those few kind words,” said Graham with a grin. Flinging back the bedclothes, he climbed out of bed and turned to make for the bathroom. “Keep reading. I won’t be a minute.” He sauntered across the bedroom, well aware of the sight he presented as he went. For a few moments Ethan didn’t look up, but as he reached the bathroom door he heard the low whistle of appreciation and wiggled his ass as he disappeared through the door. Turning on the shower, he climbed under the warm water with a sigh of contentment, and was just reaching for the soap when the shower door opened and Ethan stepped through to crowd him against the tiles.

“Thought I’d come make sure you washed everywhere,” he said, voice husky as he pressed in close. “You’d be horrified at the places that dirt can get.”

“Really?” Graham could feel Ethan’s erection pushing into the groove of his hip and reached down to slide his hand over the man’s firm buttock, pulling him in closer. “I’ve always needed supervision. You have no idea how often I’ve had to make do with a lick and a promise.”

“Yeah, sorry about that,” murmured the singer, taking the soap from Graham’s hand and fumbling for a facecloth. “But I’m hoping to remedy that for you right now.”
